The Health Workforce Advisory Council (HWAC) provide reports on the trends and demands of the Utah health workforce.

HWAC year 1 report

The council wrapped up its first legislative session in March, reviewing and commenting on 17 health workforce-related bills. The bills reviewed by the committee included topics like scope of practice, licensure, and academia/qualifications.

The Utah Health Workforce Advisory Council (HWAC) was established in 2022 through the Utah Health Workforce Act, now Utah Code 26-69-101. The council is charged with providing information and recommendations to expand and strengthen Utah’s health workforce. Learn how the HWAC strengthens the health workforce for all Utahns.
